Flower Essences are a gentle but powerful tool to assist us to balance our emotional states. Flower Essence Therapy is an energetic healing process rather than a biochemical process.
Flower Essence Theory was discovered by Dr. Edward Bach in the early 1900’s. He was a physician in London consulting patients and also worked as a pathologist and bacteriologist and worked on vaccines and developing homeopathic nosodes. He decided he wanted to work with a modality that was less disease based. In other words, we wanted to assist people before disease set in. Dr. Bach’s development of Flower Essence Therapy is truly a primary preventative modality.
Flower essence therapy is used the world over, it is completely safe and can be used in conjunction with all other healing modalities.
Consultations consist of an initial intake that takes about 90 minutes.
During this time, you are asked to reflect upon what it is you would like to receive from your flower essences. During the consultation, we may start with a centering meditation, and as we travel through the process, you will be asked to think about and do simple exercises, while taking the remedies.
The remedies will meet you where you are ready to work. Because it is a tool that works with subtle energy, we find that while meeting once for a consultation and single remedy can work well in acute situations such as being overwhelmed due to projects or an unusual amount of stress, or other life situations; deeper work happens more slowly and we recommend meeting for 3-6 months for more lasting changes.
Between sessions you may have suggestions for written exercises to assist you as emotions may surface, and/or for simple physical yoga asanas.
One of the books I refer to often is Dr. Lissa Rankin’s Mind Over Medicine, and working through the 6 Steps to Healing that she outlines is also a possibility.
Each remedy lasts for approximately 3 weeks.
